Ancestral Knowledge.
Living Practice.
Shared Futures.
Black Indigenous Medicine Apprenticeship (BIMA) preserves Black Indigenous wisdom and leadership through arts, culture, education, healing, and community practice.
We create the conditions for ancestral knowledge to be practiced, shared, resourced, and carried forward, while supporting projects and communities building systems designed to serve generations to come.
Welcome to the next 100 years.
We Turn Ancestral Knowledge Into Living Practice.

We Turn Ancestral Knowledge Into Living Practice. ✳︎
OUR PURPOSE
Rooted in Ancestral Wisdom. Building for the Next 100 Years.
BIMA is grounded in the understanding that ancestral knowledge is a living inheritance. It carries the wisdom, practices, relationships, and responsibilities that connect generations.
Through arts, culture, education, healing, and community practice, we work to keep this knowledge alive while creating the conditions for communities, projects, and relationships to flourish.
Our work connects the preservation of ancestral wisdom with the development of regenerative systems that can support collective well-being and future generations.
Upcoming Events
Come Together. Imagine What Is Possible.
BIMA gatherings create space for community, learning, storytelling, relationship-building, and conversations about the systems we want to carry into the future.
From in-person marketplaces to virtual community experiences, our events invite people to connect with the work, share knowledge, and explore possibilities for collective action.
This gathering creates space to share emerging work, exchange ideas, build connections, and explore how projects can contribute to the broader BIMA and Reparative Economy ecosystem.
